Hi, last game there was some discussion about fighting the titans. There are two paragraphs in the rulebook that seem to contradict each others:
- one says that it's not possible to eliminate a threat tile and a titan tile in the same city during the same year;
- another says (I quote): "If there is no longer a Threat or Recruitment tile on a City when a player performs an action but a Raging Titan tile is still available, the player is not obliged to eliminate the Titan", which seems to imply that you may indeed eliminate the titan in a tile where the was a threat.
My interpretation is that A SINGLE PLAYER can't eliminate a titan in the same city where HE eliminated a threat, but other players can. My plkaymates however didn't agree on this interpretation, so we played that we couldn't, and it made quite a difference in the final scoring. So how's the actual rule?
Also, is it possible for a player to recruit and then fight a titan in the same city? The rules seem to indicate that it's possible.
Thanks for reading this.
Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Your interpretation is correct : a single player can't eliminate a titan in the same city where HE eliminated a threat, but other players can.
The rules that said:""If there is no longer a Threat or Recruitment tile on a City when a player performs an action but a Raging Titan tile is still available, the player is not obliged to eliminate the Titan" means only that the action "eliminate a titan" is not compulsory.
About your last question, you can recruit and then eliminate a Titan in the same city. It's possible.
Have a nice day
best regards
Is there an FAQ that I can be directed to, or is this the best place to ask any questioms?
